Accounting Lessons
Having studied a Financial Accounting degree, I have an extensive and wide range of knowledge when it comes to the subject, however, not all accountants can be teachers. Studying my Post Graduate Certificate in Education not only allowed me to study the high school Accounting curriculum but also taught me various teaching styles and exposed me to many resources which all exist to tap into the individual learners way of absorbing and understanding the content at hand. Having required aid through my own experiences in high school as well as varsity, I understand the necessity of building up the learners confidence and exam technique to combat their difficulties faced in the Accounting classroom.
Economic and Management Science Lessons
Many young kids find EMS somewhat boring as there is quite a lot of nitty-gritty theory that cannot be ignored but actually requires a lot of absorbing and regurgitating. This is where I find various learning resources become very important as the learners definitely require something “extra” to keep them focused as well as interested. That being said, all schools begin the fundamental principles of Accounting in EMS, and if your child is planning on taking Accounting in grade 10 in the hope of one day becoming a Chartered Accountant, comprehending and being able to apply these fundamental principles from grade 8 and 9 most certainly provides them a great foundation for the complex content they will be faced with when choosing to take Accounting as a Matric subject.
Natural Science Lessons
Natural Science being my favourite subject from grade 4, I thought it only fitting that I become qualified to teach it up until a high school level. Having taken Physical Science and Life Science (Biology) for Matric, paved they way for my desire to start my Bachelor of Science degree. Natural Science is often a very difficult subject for learners to excel in, especially in grade 8 and 9. The learners are faced with so many new concepts, theories, the scientific method and the intricate rules and laws of Physics and Chemistry, it is extremely difficult for them to fully comprehend, especially since a lot of the content being taught cannot actually be seen. In this subject, I like to used a lot of real life examples as well as experiments so that the learners are able to relate the content to their everyday lives, as well as remaining focused, interested and of course having some fun!
